The Department of Cultural Promotion (DCP) or the Office of the National Culture Commission (ONCC) is the governmental organization under the Ministry of Culture. The National Culture Commission (ONCC) have legally transformed to the Department of Cultural Promotion (DCP), Ministry of Culture on September 23, 2010 which is effective on September 24, 2010.
The Department of Cultural Promotion plays an important role in promoting and presenting the Thai arts and culture through the means of study, research, rehabilitation, conservation, development, dissemination as well as supporting the government agencies, private sectors and general public that involve in cultural works.

The Department of Cultural Promotion has operated cultural works under the laws and related regulations as follows:
  1. National Culture Act, B.E. 2553 (2009)
  2. Film and Video Act, B.E. 2551 (2007)
  3. Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage ACT, B.E. …
The Department of Cultural Promotion has operated International Cultural Cooperation under Multilateral and Bilateral Agreements as follows:
  1. United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
  2. Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH)
  3. World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
  4. International Council of Organizations for Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF®)
  5. Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
