Foreign Relations of the Office of the National Culture Commission PDF Print E-mail

Regarding cultural implementation in relation with foreign countries, the ONCC is concerned with cultural promotion, cultural dissemination, and cultural exchanges in collaboration with foreign countries, especially in the fields of traditional performing arts, folklore, and craftsmanship.
Apart from these cultural promotions and cultural exchanges in relation with foreign countries, the ONCC has obligations in the safeguarding and preservation of Thailand's intangible cultural heritage, including traditional performing arts, folksong, folklore, and craftsmanship.

The ONCC also supports Thai performers in participating in international folklore festivals abroad. These activities are implemented in consultation with the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art (CIOFF), under formal consultative relations with the UNESCO.

It is a great pleasure of the Thai people that a Thai member has gained the trust of CIOFF members from over 75 countries, who selected Dr. Udomsak Sakmunwong; President of Cultural Council of Lampang Province, to serve as President of the World CIOFF since 2005.

The ONCC has also collaborated with foreign countries in inspiring individuals to express greater service and social dedication, aiming to create a kinder and more compassionate world.

In implementing service activities, the ONCC has successfully carried out several activities in collaboration with the Chuay Thai Foundation through the full support of Dr. Artorn  Chandavimol, who has continuously played an important role in initiating and implementing this activity. The two partners have successfully carried out several activities for the benefit of public charity, for instance, providing support for people encountering natural disasters. The implementation of these activities has been noted at international conferences, for example, in Singapore and Italy.
